The muted colors of this yarn remind us of the ocean and of wine, so the song title “Ocean of Wine” by Helium is a fitting name for this colorway. This yarn was over-dyed (dyed twice) to produce a multi-layered, complex effect. Dyed on our Yellowstone Base, the stripes consist of 5 rows of Caribbean green, 5 rows of sangria purple, 5 rows of forest brown, and 10 rows of night sky blue. This yarn will be available in our Etsy shop on June 5th.

Dyed on our Big Sky Base, the striping consists of 4 rows each of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. The 415-yard skein comes with a “sister sidekick” heel/toe 100-yard skein in red, for you OCD people who don’t want to interrupt the striping sequence. 🙂
“Call the Midwife” is one of our favorite shows, so, of course, we had to come up with a colorway patterned after the show. The women of Nonnatus House tackle the most interesting medical cases in Poplar, including some fascinating births, and we just love how they look so wonderful in their 1950’s pale blue uniforms and maroon sweaters. This colorway was dyed on our Yellowstone Base, and the striping consists of 6 rows of Sister Julienne, 6 rows of Trixie, 6 rows of Shelagh Turner, and 6 rows of Sister Mary Cynthia.
We have an exciting line-up of new colorways that will be available in our Etsy shop on June 5 at 2 pm, including this one called “Spring Iris.” This four-color self-striper was inspired by the purple Irises growing in our yard this Spring. This colorway was dyed on our Yellowstone Base, a high twist fingering weight yarn consisting of 80% superwash merino wool and 20% nylon. The striping is 6 rows of lilac, 6 rows of yellow, 6 rows of sage green, and 6 rows of dark purple, depending on gauge.
This colorway is another one of our over-dyed yarns. First, we dyed the yarn with six brightly colored stripes, and then we over-dyed it to produce a more muted effect. The end result reminded us of a rainy, cloudy day in Portland, Oregon, like the TV show “Portlandia”. This yarn was dyed on our Big Sky Base, and the striping consists of approximately 4 rows of Portland, 4 rows of Put a Bird on It!, 4 rows of 90’s, 4 rows of Fred, 4 rows of Carrie, and 4 rows of Women & Women First. So, just put a bird on it!
Take a look at one of our most popular colorways — Gothic Rainbow. We sold out of this colorway after our second Etsy shop update, so we dyed it again for our latest shop update on May 8, 2015. This time we dyed it on our Big Sky Base (4-ply, fingering weight, 75% superwash merino wool, 25% nylon). The striping is about 3 rows each of gloomy purple, mysterious orange/red, decaying flesh, medieval moss, mysterious green, cloudy sky, 12th century black, and gothic gray. The muted lush colors of this yarn are simply gorgeous, if we must say so ourselves!
